Job Description:
The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing key accounting functions and supporting the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of RODAN Builders' financial operations. This role requires strong construction accounting expertise and hands-on knowledge of subcontractor compliance, weekly payroll, accounts receivable, and general accounting. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates exceptional attention to detail, and takes a proactive approach by anticipating needs, identifying potential issues, and taking ownership of projects before problems arise.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Manage and oversee day-to-day general accounting activities to ensure accurate and timely financial records.

Oversee construction accounting processes, including job cost accounting, project-related transactions, and proper coding and allocation of costs.

Oversee the labor compliance team, providing guidance and support on subcontractor compliance issues to de-escalate complex situations.

Oversee weekly payroll processing and review payroll for accuracy, completeness, proper coding, and timely submission.

Manage Accounts Receivable functions, including customer billing, payment application, account reconciliation, collections, and follow-up on outstanding balances.

Support and oversee month-end and year-end close activities, including account reconciliations, journal entries, and review of outstanding items.

Review accounting activity for trends, patterns, discrepancies, and potential issues; research and resolve concerns before they impact deadlines or operations.

Develop and maintain accounting processes, controls, and procedures that improve accuracy, efficiency, and accountability.

Partner with project teams, leadership, vendors, subcontractors, and other departments to resolve accounting matters and maintain accurate supporting documentation.

Take ownership of accounting projects and emerging needs by anticipating requirements, establishing next steps, and driving projects through completion.

Support the Accounting team with additional accounting responsibilities and special projects, as needed.
Qualifications:

Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in general accounting.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.

Strong expertise and hands-on experience in construction accounting.

Strong knowledge of subcontractor compliance requirements and related accounting documentation.

Experience overseeing and/or processing weekly payroll.

Strong Accounts Receivable experience, including billing, collections, reconciliation, and follow-up.

Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting.

Exceptional attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy and accountability.

Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and projects in a fast-paced environment.
